How it began...

You have questions. The money donated here does NOT go to me. As most of you know I have no insurance. I have applied to Medicaid and Holy Cross for financial aide which will come from charity monies donated and foundations. I am waiting to hear. I have applied to other insurance companies and have not been able to complete the applications or snags on either end prevented me from getting the important turn down letter which is required to apply for PCIP along with no insurance for the past 6 months. I have paid for health insurance my whole life. I have no idea why I thought I could "make it" to 65, dropped it 7 months ago to "save" $10,000. yeah right! Dumb. However, I must trust God and his plan for me. Your prayers are being heard, I thank you. I hear there will be a foundation for donations, it will be set up at the Pompano Bridge Club somehow.
I feel good enough to work. I am waiting for my first chemo shot. I want to start right away. The doctor said work out, stay strong. Everyone says be positive, attitude counts. So be happy when we talk. And be happy when you talk to Paul, he is the best!!

Back to work for me. Honestly I love my job and love to keep busy, I will be directing, teaching and playing pro (hire me!) while getting chemo here in ft laud. surgery expected in October.

I met with the experts in sarcoma at Moffitt Center today. It is big, probably as low as my left eyebrow and a few inches north of my hairline. He took a biopsy of a new spot dead center to see if has gone that far across my forehead. Action, 2 or 3 rounds of chemo and then immediate surgery to remove the whole area in an attempt to "get it all". Of course skin graphs will be necessary. I will look different, gotta get some scarfs, I will lose my hair - the least of my worries.

I will be at the bridge club Saturday morning to teach the beginners. Paul and I will be at the club Sunday. Monday we leave really early for Tampa. Please God, guide my doctor.

Just read all your notes, how sweet. I don't want to do this alone, so thanks for caring.

Up early, but so is Jenn (my daughter), that means we need a schedule. Tom Lane has donated a TV for the club! Yeah. I love to work and play at the bridge club. Waiting for results from pathologist, waiting for Moffit to schedule my appointment. Waiting for money lady to call me from Holy Cross. As I have said, I dont wait well. But our schedule calls for Dog Park, Beach, Lunch, Club, nap. Work tonight. More prayers. Then to the weekend.

Blood work all GOOD! no problems, no thyroid, no diabetes, none of this and none of that. Petscan is looking good! Slides were picked up today. Dr. Onstad will hand deliver them to the pathologists at Holy Cross where there will be 2 genius's to read them and Pulos from Miami is coming to read them. I have been approved at Moffit and will finally get a call from scheduling. And the beat goes on......

Hi my beautiful family members. Good news from petscan, initial reading shows my body is clean, they still have to look closely at the head. This morning, blood work, chest xray (clear), EKG and urine specimen. Gotta get the initial slides to another lab for re-check. Could this not be angio sarcoma - I am NOT that lucky am I? Power of prayer, keep praying the area on my head has faded (just some demons, maybe the devil is dead). I am wearing the prayer shawl. I have my first appointment with my oncologist today at 2 PM. Looks like I am headed toward Tampa and the Moffit Center. Still no insurance.

I just met with a "very important person", she told me so herself. She said when you get to see me there are miracles coming your way - charity money wise. In fact I might be alot better off WITHOUT INSURANCE!! God, is this your way?? Did You plan for me to find the cheaper more effective way to deal with a life threatening tumor?? Anyway, now I get a call from my guardian angel nurse who says the head pet scan reader sees NOTHING!! And he want to get my slides reanalyzed and re-diagnosed by a big pathologist that knows the most. PRAY!!!

Since we have champion prayers in our large wonderful family I want you to pray for me. I have angiosarcoma on my left forehead. It's big and shitty and I will need alot of help. Pray the right people are put in my path. Lots of big decisions will be made for me. Luckily my new insurance will kick in Aug. 15th. I understand mom is praying to all the deceased relatives too and 8/15 is the feast of the Assumption. A day that Grandpa and Grandma observed as a high holy
